We all remember that little easter egg in Batman v Superman; Dawn of Justice. A shot of Robin’s suit with “HAHA Joke’s on you Batman” written in spraypaint across the chest. Now how many of us thought it was Jason Todd after the events of A Death in the Family in the 80’s when Joker takes a crowbar to Jason Todd? I sure did. Comments from David Ayer even lead us to believe it was Jason Todd.
Guess what? It isn’t. After answering questions on Vero, Zack Snyder has confirmed that the DCEU’s Joker actually killed Dick Grayson. Like what?!
Well then…we didn’t see that one coming. What we don’t know is if he’s referring to the Snyder Cut that will be airing next year on HBO Max or his now canceled Justice League Part 2. We’ll just have to wait and see if he answers that question or if we get to see for ourselves in 2021.

Created by writer Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane, Dick Grayson first appeared as Robin in Detective Comics #38 in April 1940. He would eventually outgrow that persona in July 1984 and become Nightwing in in Tales of the Teen Titans #44.
