Following a few days of internet speculation to the contrary, Warner Bros confirmed to Indiewire that Wonder Woman 1984 will indeed be coming to theaters. The current COVID-19 social distancing quarantine environment has led to several theaters temporarily closing their doors. Recent studio films like Emma, The Invisible Man, and The Hunt have also hit VOD long before they normally would.

Wonder Woman 1984 is currently scheduled for a June 5 release; WB hasn’t officially commented on any shift in date at this point. The sequel to Patty Jenkins’s popular 2017 film features returning cast members Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen, along with newcomers Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig.

Another DC film, Birds of Prey, arrived on VOD less than two months after its February 7 theatrical debut. Given recent trends, that projected June 5 date for WW 1984 may not hold for much longer.
