DC Postponing Metal Men Issues 7 & 8

Newsarama is reporting that DC Comics has decided to postpone the releases of both Metal Men issues 7 & 8.

According to the article, DC has let retailers know that both issues will be delayed.

Issue #7 had a release date of March 18, 2020, but is now slated to be released instead on April 8, 2020. Like issue 7, issue #8 will also be delayed three weeks, being pushed from April 15 to April 29. Metal Men #9’s issue is still slated to be released on May 20, 2020.

DC did not provide a reason for the delays.

This news does come hot off the heels of the recent announcement that Co-Publisher (and writer of the aforementioned Metal Men series) Dan DiDio recently stepped down from his role at DC.

According to a tweet by Metal Men artist Shane Davis at the time of the news, the series was proceeding as scheduled:

Metal Men #6 is still on schedule to hit stores on April 8, 2020, and carries a retail price of $3.99. That issue, of course written by DiDio and drawn by Davis, will also be released with a George Pérez variant cover.

Comixology’s description reads: “After Platinum finds out that she is based on a real woman Magnus used to know in college, she sneaks away to search for her human counterpart…and learns the twisted reason for why she “loves” Magnus so much. Meanwhile, back at Magnus Mountain, Nth Metal Man seems to have some bigger plans of his own with someone else from the Dark Multiverse…”

So I guess we will never know why DC is postponing Metal Men.
