Shazam!…14 Weeks Late

Shazam!

Saying the Wizard’s name will not bring the next issue of Shazam! to stands any sooner.

What’s Going On, Geoff?

With the successful motion picture starring Zachary Levi based on his rebooted origin, DC Comics President Geoff Johns promised a new book. His Shazam! is the first regular monthly installment of C.C. Beck’s creation in decades. Teamed with his artist buddy Dale Eaglesham from their days on JSA, it seemed that Billy Batson and his family were in good hands. Their first few issues have sought to redefine Shazam by having the family explore the worlds they’ve inherited. Between being trapped in a child-ruled dimension and the unexpected return of Billy’s biological father, the subplots are amazing. Geoff is even redefining the menace that is Mister Mind and revealing what Black Adam knows about these worlds.

So what’s wrong?

Geoff and Dale are behind.

The seventh issue of Shazam!, originally scheduled for March, will now be delayed until September. This is seventh rescheduling, which has pushed the eighth issue to September 25th. This means that the two issues are following a bimonthly schedule. There is no explanation as to the reason for the delays.
