Rumor: Jamie Foxx and Giancarlo Esposito in ‘The Batman’
Big rumors have recently leaked concerning character casting for Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
Rumors have begun circulating that big name actors Jamie Foxx and Giancarlo Esposito are on the shortlist for major roles in The Batman. Currently, character details about roles are still unknown but one of the actors could possibility be linked to the casting of The Riddler.
Jamie Foxx is no stranger to the world of superhero movies after playing the villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Foxx is also very well known for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biopic Ray and his starring role in Quintin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Foxx began his rise to super-stardom as a comedic actor in the sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show and the 90s sketch comedy show In Living Color.
Giancarlo Esposito made a mainstream name for himself as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul on AMC. Esposito will have a major role in the Star Wars miniseries The Mandalorian for Disney+ and is reportedly up for a major role in an upcoming movie inside the MCU.
The Batman will star Robert Pattinson as Batman and will feature villains Riddler, Catwoman, Firefly and Penguin.
The rumors of both Foxx and Esposito out of Warner Bros just adds more superstar firepower and sets the bar of expectations much higher for the first Batman outing from Matt Reeves, who serves as both writer and director on the movie for DC.
The Batman will arrive in theaters on June 25, 2021.
