Dougray Scott To Star In ‘Batwoman’ Pilot; Marcos Siega Steps In As Director

Dougray Scott has joined the cast of CW’s Batwoman as the titular character’s father. The character will work along side Ruby Rose’s Batwoman in a Gotham no longer patrolled by The Batman.

The pilot, from Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, is set to debut on the CW sometime between 2019 and 2020. In addition, Marcos Siega has come on board to direct and executive produce. He takes over for David Nutter, who has stepped aside as director for personal reasons, but will remain an EP on the pilot.

Caroline Dries will pen the series, centered on Kate Kane’s vigilante justice and hard spoken attitude. The series will be an epic and action-packed social commentary for a new caped crusader dealing with her own sexuality.

Scott will be joining the cast as Jacob Kane, Kate’s father and primary confident and partner in the war against Gotham’s criminal under world, in the comics. This version of the character seems to have a disdain for cape crusaders as he is the head of a private security firm known as The Crows. Specifically tasked with ridding Gotham of Batman, the firm has nothing to do until a new vigilante hits the streets. But unbeknownst to Jacob, it’s his own daughter.
