With the inclusion of UK anarchist Manchester Black, it was just a matter of time before Supergirl producers started to consider bringing in members of his motley crew, The Elite. That expectation has become reality with the casting of Louis Ozawa Changchien as magic man The Hat.
Changchien’s first episode on the series is entitled “What’s Funny about Truth, Justice, and the American Way?”, a title shared by the infamous Superman comic story that introduced Black and company.
The Hat is described as an Earth elemental with fire-breathing abilities and limited invulnerability. True to his name, his top hat is magical, enabling him any supernatural spell or creature he desires.
Supergirl returns to The CW on Sunday, January 20 at 8/7 Central.
