The Seven Deadly Sins are set to appear as characters in the upcoming Shazam! film, though how significant their roles will be is still unknown.
While the group’s — including Pride, Envy, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony, and Lust — religious origin is much older, they first appeared in comic book form as the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man way back in 1940’s Whiz Comics #2 (also the debut of Captain Marvel and Dr. Sivana).
The versions in the movie, however, will apparently be closer to their New 52 iterations.
This news isn’t a complete surprise, since it was previously reported that audition tapes for the movie included the characters.
Shazam! opens April 5.
