Aquaman has advanced in its contention for the Oscar Visual Effects category, despite not being released yet, according to Variety. It does, however, have to compete against some big contenders such as Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Mary Poppins Returns, and Ready Player One.
There are currently 20 films still in contention. In order to officially be an Oscar Nominee, Aquaman will have to make the top 5. This year is one of the most competitive years the Oscars has seen for the visual effects category. Do you think Aquaman is worthy? Let us know in the comments!
