“Injustice 2” Releases Unused Character Designs

The makers of Injustice 2 have released concept art for a number of characters that didn’t not make the roster’s final cut.  Despite having a large roster that included, not just DC heroes and villains, but also characters like Mirage Studios’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Mortal Kombat’s Subzero, there will still additional characters that were under consideration and rejected.

The concept art is done by Justin Murray, and features characters that have played roles in the comics, but not in Injustice or Injustice 2, such as The Penguin, John Constantine, Detective Chimp, Etrigan, Bluebird, and Krypto. NetherRealms Studios, the game developers, have not stated a reason as to why these characters did not end up in the game, but it could be because of difficulties finding a suitable fighting style or the fate of those characters in the comics.

That being said, should the Injustice series return for a third installment, perhaps they characters may end up in the game.  What do you think of these designs? Would you like to see these character story in the games?  Let us know in the comments!

I am currently a Sophomore at Case Western Reserve University studying mechanical engineering. I have been in love with DC since I saw the animated series and movies in the early 2000s. I started reading comics regularly at the start of Rebirth. My favorite character is Martian Manhunter.
