Gareth Evans Only Had Initial Meetings About ‘Deathstroke’ Movie

Gareth Evans Deathstroke movie dc comics news

In an interview with Comicbook.com, The Raid director Gareth Evans has confirmed he was initial talks to direct Joe Manganiello in a Deathstroke movie. He added, however, that matters never progressed past the initial conversations.

“I had a phone call which I think was publicized a bit, about Deathstroke with DC. We talked about that before, we had a few conversations. One of the guys at DC and at Warner Brothers, one with Joe, who has been on the character for some time now, who is super passionate about that character, by the way. I’ve never met anyone who knows more about their character.”

Evans summed up by saying, “I haven’t had any conversation about that project for a long time now.”

Deathstroke fans shouldn’t give up hope yet, as this past summer at SDCC Manganiello indicated that a movie is still in progress.
