Katherine McNamara Takes Aim at “Arrow”

Shadowhunters actress Katherine McNamara has been cast in a pivotal recurring role in the seventh season of Arrow.

It has been reported that in the first half of the season the Missouri-born 23-year-old actress and singer will be portraying a young scrapper on the street named Maya, characterized as “Buffy The Superhero Slayer.” Given that description, it sounds as though she is taking aim at Star City’s remaining vigilantes while Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) remains behind bars serving a life sentence for his activities as The Green Arrow. Whether or not she has a connection to returning big bad Ricardo Diaz remains to be seen. Further, will Maya play a role in the anticipated appearance of The Longbow Hunters, a staple in Green Arrow history that was name dropped in last year’s finale?

Besides Shadowhunters, McNamara is known for playing Sonya in The Maze Runner films, as well as voiceover work for Transformers: Rescue Bots.

The seventh season of Arrow premieres in its new Monday night slot on October 15th at 8 Eastern on The CW.
