‘Suicide Squad 2’ Gets Big Setting and Rating Update

Over the weekend co-writer, Todd Stashwick, revealed that the Suicide Squad 2 script is finished. Stashwick says that the film is a sequel to the first film, unlike Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984, and will tell a deeper story about the characters. Now that the script is done, some details have been leaked.

According to scooper @DanielRPK, Suicide Squad 2 will take place primarily in the Middle East. Apparently, this was to help set up Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s appearance in Black Adam which was reported by The Wrap last year. Unfortunately, with the busy schedule, The Rock might not be able to do the film (and after all that hype too.) Instead, an unknown DC character is rumored to be taking his place.

Suicide Squad 2 is said to be a “grounded, black ops style film” that is targeting an “R” rating. Director Gavin O’Connor is hoping that shifting the tone will help differentiate between the two films.

So, assuming the crazy rumors are true, who do you think should take Black Adam’s place? Let us know in the comments!
