A casting leak may have let it slip that another Krypton survivor will join the Arrowverse crossover this year. The crossover will already feature Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), and her cousin Superman (Tyler Hoechlin).
This year’s crossover will be smaller and focus on a more story driven arc than the large battle scenes we have seen in the past. The stars of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl will travel to Gotham City and meet Ruby Rose’s Batwoman. The event will also serve as the Arrowverse debut for Lois Lane. While Lois has been the main the focus of talk for casting a new leak may indicate another member of house El will be joining the crew.
“Lon-El” and “Dr. Elias Kern,” are being cast to appear in the crossover. As with most casting calls, it’s likely that these names are just placeholders to hide their true identities, Characterized as both “inscrutable” and “ambiguous,” he possesses “nearly infinite” power, which does make him sound like Superman, or any Kryptonian exposed to the rays of the yellow sun.
While Kryptonians that survived the homeworlds destruction have popped up from time to time including Supergirl’s love interests on the show, Mon-El, comics have had a plethora of Krypton survivors come to the fold. Many are citing that the event could lead to the reveal of Jor-El still being alive similarly to the events of Rebirth currently unfolding in the comics. It would be fitting that a super-powered Kryptonian take the place of this year’s villain as both Supergirl and Superman will be needed to defeat the unstoppable.
Season 7 of Arrow premieres October 7, followed by season 5 ofThe Flash on October 9, and season 4 of Supergirl on October 14.
