The titular role has been found for the new show Swamp Thing on DC’s new streaming service. Derek Mears, who played Jason Voorhees in 2009’s Friday the 13th, has been cast as Swamp Thing. Both Splash Report and Bloody Disgusting have reported the news. Mears will play the creature, but not his human later ago Alec Holland.
Earlier this week Swamp Thing writer Gary Dauberman said that the series will be “hard R” with “graphic violence” and “adult themes.” With Mears’ previous role, he’ll fit in just nicely.
