Warner Bros Eyeing Reed Morano to Direct the Supergirl Film

Reed Morano - DC Comics News

Hoping to emulate the success of Wonder Woman, Warner Bros recently announced they added a Supergirl film to the slate of upcoming films. The film will not be connected to the currently running CW series Supergirl from Berlanti Productions. Like Wonder Woman, which was directed by Patty Jenkins, WB has made it clear they wish to hire a woman to direct the movie.

According to sources, Reed Morano is at the top of their wish list of directors.  Morano began as a cinematographer, but recently caught people’s attention with her directorial work on the TV shows Billions and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Nothing is official yet but based on her previous work she could be an excellent pick for the film.

What do you think of Morano on the film? Is she qualified, is she ready? Is WB being sexist by excluding the possibility of men and actively seeking out only women for the job?  Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Cameron Tevis

Hi, I'm Cameron Tevis and I've been a comic book, anime and film fan my entire life. While I like Marvel and anime my true love is DC Comics. My father, who was a fan himself, introduced me at a very young age to the amazing characters in DC (especially Hal Jordan Green Lantern). I think it's a fantastic time to be a comic book fan and I'm happy I get to write about the company that I love so much. Besides being a DC fan, I am a designer and I recently started a comic book series of my own called Event Cycle 6 published through Aporian Comics. I recently wrote and directed a short film "The Misadventures of Harley Quinn". And most importantly I am now a father to my beautiful daughter Arya Jade!
