Goodbye ‘DCEU’, Hello ‘Worlds of DC’!

DC films have had their ups and downs for the past few years, and DC has addressed that by officially rebranding their shared universe as “Worlds of DC.”

First they teased the crowd with incomplete WW84 footage.  Then they revealed a Shazam! teaser before arriving at their main event: Aquaman.  With these new announcements, DC made sure to make the statement that the unofficial DCEU is no more and to welcome Worlds of DC.

This is officially the first time Warner Bros. and DC Comics have given a name to to this cinematic universe.  Unlike their Marvel counterpart, the MCU, however, there are no plans to make everything in Worlds of DC connected.  The Worlds of DC will hit the ground running with Titans, which will be released sometime this fall.

I am currently a Sophomore at Case Western Reserve University studying mechanical engineering. I have been in love with DC since I saw the animated series and movies in the early 2000s. I started reading comics regularly at the start of Rebirth. My favorite character is Martian Manhunter.
