‘Aquaman’: Close-Up Look Of His New Underwater Ride

The Aquaman marketing machine is in full swing!  Aquaman has been known to ride a giant seahorse from time to time and has been mocked for it many times in the past.  However, just like the filmmakers endeavored to make Aquaman cool by casting Jason Momoa, they have also tried to make the concept of the Sea Horse cool and exciting by making it a sea dragon.

Producer Peter Safran had this to say:

The idea was to turn on its head the idea of Aquaman riding a seahorse, take something for which he was mocked and turn it into something terrifying and impressive. He’s a Xebellian
creature but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Arthur on one at some point…

The fierce-looking sea dragon is said to be ridden by the people of Xebel — one of the seven underwater kingdoms of Atlantis. Mera (Amber Heard) is a warrior from the Xebel, which is led by King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren).

Cameron Tevis

Hi, I'm Cameron Tevis and I've been a comic book, anime and film fan my entire life. While I like Marvel and anime my true love is DC Comics. My father, who was a fan himself, introduced me at a very young age to the amazing characters in DC (especially Hal Jordan Green Lantern). I think it's a fantastic time to be a comic book fan and I'm happy I get to write about the company that I love so much. Besides being a DC fan, I am a designer and I recently started a comic book series of my own called Event Cycle 6 published through Aporian Comics. I recently wrote and directed a short film "The Misadventures of Harley Quinn". And most importantly I am now a father to my beautiful daughter Arya Jade!
