Summary
In the exquisitely perfect finale to Deathbed, Williamson and Rossmo have brought their mini-series to a perfect conclusion. Picking up where #5 left off, we see Val and Luna being taken from the wreckage of their crashed ship by zombie werewolves. These undead lycans take the unlikeliest of duos inside of a large refined structure which seems shockingly familiar to Val, though she can’t quite place it. After their long journey through the facility, they finally arrive at their destination to find none other than Leonardo Luna, Antonio’s father, waiting for them!
Positives
Deathbed #6 may very-well be the perfect conclusion to that spectacular and self-reflective story. In many ways this series has come full circle in both narrative and visuals. On the way to see Leonardo Luna, the path perfectly mimics Val’s journey to see Antonio the first time. Along with this, there is a re-enactment of their first engagement, though it is between the Luna’s and not a gang of monsters. Beyond the visuals, the writing takes over and pushes this series to the conclusion that will impact its readers so strongly.
It is said that all boys become their fathers, which still applies to the world’s most interesting man as well. Only near the end of his long life has he seen the error of his ways. His father, of course, disagrees and thinks he has been perfect and will help the Luna name go down in history. The splitting of belief between father and son drives him. How critical it is for all people to be self-reflective and to try to understand what we want in life.
Val carries this lesson from a well traveled and storied old man in her still young hands and we see a large change in her perspective on life. This change is something that all people need to be aware of and take on.

Verdict
Deathbed #6, the finale, was an incredible end to this six-part mini-series. It brought the whole story full circle without leaving any loose ends to the lives of Luna or Val. Be sure to pick this issue up now!
