Kevin Smith Is Actively Looking For A New Network For Comic Book Men

Kevin Smith has confirmed that he is actively looking for a new network to pick up his show Comic Book Men following its cancellation in June by its current network AMC.

The show which centred around Smith and his friends Brian, Walter, Mike and Ming who all hung around a comic book store which is owned by Smith himself. The reality show had a dedicated fan base and ran for an impressive seven seasons before being cut last week.

Following fan outcry after the news broke that the show had been cancelled, Smith took to Twitter to state that he was indeed “pitching” the show to other networks in the hope a new home could be found.

Smith reassured fans that he would keep them updated and thanked them for their kind words.

Unfortunately, it’s that time of the year where many of our favourite shows are often in danger of being cancelled however, it’s not uncommon for other networks to step in and offer a lifeline.

Comic Book Men does have a solid fan base so even if other networks decide against picking up the reality show, there is always the chance that one of the online streaming services such as Netflix or Hulu could decide to pick it up.

It would certainly be upsetting to see the show go especially after Smith confirmed that Clerks 3 would not be happening. On the plus side however, we do have the return of Jay and Silent Bob for a new VR series as well as Jay and Silent Bob The Reboot (supposedly beginning production) this August.

We’ll continue to keep you up to date on the future of Comic Book Men as news breaks.
