Michael Keaton Gives Epic Commencement Speech With Just Two Words

For those of you who don’t know this little bit of info, Michael Keaton is a graduate of Kent State University. So why is that relevant? Because he gave a commencement speech at his alma mater that was EPIC. Keaton played the Dark Knight in Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992) and to this day remains the running for the best Batman actor ever to grace the silver screen. Keaton loved his time donning the cape and cowl and loves to reference his old roles and deliver lines to fans. He’s even admitted his not opposed to suiting up again for a 3rd time if asked, even though he quit the role for Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever atrocity. But that’s beside the point.

This clip of Keaton’s commencement ceremony speech had the internet on fire and made the Twitter rounds. Majority of the message was not documented, but the best part of it was caught on video. He reminded everyone that he’s Batman and the crowd went wild. You can watch the video below:

Well, someone decided to respond to that statement! One of the best Batmen in the business, Kevin Conroy, responded to Keaton on Twitter.

You’re still the best Batman ever Kevin; it’s ok. Aside from Batman, Keaton has played many iconic roles including Beetlejuice and 2014’s Birdman. Even though Affleck is giving him a run for his money, Keaton is still Batman to us.

Hi! I'm Shaina aka the Jokergurl. I've been studying comics (namely Batman) since I was 12 years old, and possibly even before that. My forte is being up on absolutely everything there is to know about the Caped Crusader, and both the Clown Prince and Princess of Crime. I recently graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with an MA in English and Creative Writing and an MFA in Creative Writing from National University. I am also a Digital Marketing expert. I have a cat Strawberry and a dog Ashes and spend most of my time reading, editing, cosplaying, and gaming on Game of Honor. Have a happy!
