Summary
“BATMEN ETERNAL” part two! Batwoman has reunited with her father, and leadership of the Colony is in her hands…but should she take it? And if she does, what is she supposed to do about a problem like Batman?
Positives
In this issue, we get a vision of a dystopian future where Gotham becomes a colony by the order of the President. The whole city is under martial law, something different from what Bruce and the rest of the Bat Family had in mind in protecting the city. We also get to see Ulysses in action once again talking to Tim, warning him of a future where Barbara can be dangerous, and considering how fractured the Bat Family is, one has to wonder what Ulysses’ true motivation is for talking to Tim.
We also get to see the team that Barbara has put together for the Colony, a somewhat happier version of who they were when they were with Bruce. This is a little disconcerting because, as a fan, I hope this parting is only temporary for this arc. The last few panels shows us how Ulysses’ technology can be used for evil purposes.
Negatives
There are no negatives worth mentioning in this issue.
Verdict
As crazy as this storyline is so far, I, like most fans, can’t wait to see where it goes next.
