Final ‘Batman: The Enemy Within’ Release Date Revealed–And It Comes With A Twist

We’ve finally come to the final chapter of Batman: The Enemy Within and Telltale Games has the official release date. The game is an ongoing five-part episodic series that continues their unique take on the Dark Knight. Episode 5, entitled Same Stitch, will be released on Tuesday, March 27th, for Xbox One, PC, PS4, Mac, and mobile.

“What would you choose: a friend whose unhinged approach to justice turns your allies against you, or a sworn enemy who will stop at nothing to see you suffer as your city burns? Based on the relationship you’ve built with John Doe, you’ll see one of two very different stories play out. So what’ll it be, Bruce: friend…or foe?”

The choices players have made over the course of the other games will determine which story they’ll see in the finale. Talk about a wicked RPG. But that’s not the only outcome that will be affected. Your choices will also determine which version of the Joker you’ll see in the finale. The game features two different takes on the Joker: a ruthless villain that hews closer to the Clown Prince of Crime and the other is an unpredictable vigilante, unlike any portrayal we’ve seen of the iconic DC character. That’s a feat that’s pretty hard to do.

Same Stitch has three and a half hours of content spread across two distinct storylines with only three overlapping scenes. Each storyline includes further variations that reflect the player’s earlier choices which makes this episode Telltale’s “branchiest” episode ever. Same Stitch has over 4,500 lines of dialogue divided among 38 characters. The script is larger than Nolan’s entire Dark Knight series!

“Without exaggeration, Same Stitch is the most ambitious piece of content Telltale has ever produced,” says Season Lead Writer James Windeler. “We had to adjust our usual development process to accommodate the added scope, but it was super important to us to honor players’ choices, whether they chose to befriend John or not. We had to deliver on the season’s central promise of allowing players to craft their own Joker.”

We can’t wait to play and see how the game ends!
