Review: Harley & Ivy Meets Betty & Veronica #6 (FINAL ISSUE)

[Editor’s Note: This review may contain spoilers]

Writer: Marc Andreyko and Paul Dini

Artist: Laura Braga

Summary

The Gotham City girls are heading back to Riverdale after making a brief detour to Sabrina’s house. With any luck, they’ll get home before the real super-villains manage to cause any more trouble at the future home of Lodge’s Sweetwater Centre. And before Ronnie’s reputation is ruined by Ivy’s scholarly pursuits!

Positives

This serves as the first time all four titular characters band together, as often throughout the series they are either at odds or their bodies are switched. Braga’s art style serves the Archie characters well in this book, as Archie and Jughead, who have played the background mostly in this series, are more prominently featured in this issue.

The surprise twist in this story is that the British Intelligence is also looking into the same matters, as the reader finds out just how much Riverdale and Gotham really matter to the larger world affairs. Lastly, the ending is fitting to how wild the story has been, as each character finds their match, i.e. the friendly competition between Harley and Jughead, and leaves the door open for a sequel.

Negatives

There are no negatives worth mentioning in this issue.

Verdict

This issue is the end of this great miniseries and is a funny, action packed and kinetic issue that will more than satisfy fans of both franchises.
