In a recent Q and A on Twitter, director Paul Thomas Anderson was asked which cartoon he would like to adapt for the screen if he had to. His answer was short and sweet.

Now this is hardly an announcement that he is working on the film, but anyone that knows his work can certainly get excited about the possibility. Anderson’s previous work includes Boogie Nights, There Will be Blood and the upcoming Phantom Thread starring Daniel-Day Lewis.
Anderson is also on record saying that he enjoys watching superhero films and believes that the superhero genre gets:

Even though this wasn’t an official announcement made by him on any level, Warner Brothers, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada might want to consider reaching out to him to see his actual level of interest.
