Review: Justice League of America #20

Summary

The Justice League of America continues their fight against Prometheus who’s infiltrated their base and has innocent citizens captured. Forcing Vixen to make a choice between the amulet that gives her powers or saving the citizens–she makes the obvious choice. Can the League stop Prometheus, or is his plan too difficult to overcome?

Positives

I’ve always been a huge fan of Prometheus. His intricate planning and his careful attention to detail make him a formidable villain, and I always enjoy seeing him go up against other heroes. Prometheus incapacitates everyone on the team almost ,including Lobo. None of his plans last long enough however, and as soon as the team finds themselves free, it’s time to get some payback against Prometheus!

Negatives

My only negative about this issue however is Lobo. After the action is over and done, the team has a chance to talk and reflect amongst themselves about all the revelations Prometheus’ encounter did to the team. A few secrets get exposed between them especially with Killer Frost. Lobo exposes her secret to the team, and I really didn’t like it at all. Sometimes Lobo comes across as a sincere ally and a true member of the League, however in this issue he seemed to enjoy to telling of Killer Frost’s secret, and I’ve become pretty biased towards Frost myself. She’s came a long way from villain to struggling to become a hero. Lobo had no right to bring up her past–no matter how recent it was.

Verdict

Overall Justice League of America #20 was a good read. It’s full of action and tells a great story as well. The team really came together in this issue, but now I’m hesitant to see what happens in the next issue. I really hope that Killer Frost doesn’t go back to her villain ways because of Lobo’s words especially in from of Ryan Choi aka The Atom since they obviously have feelings for each other.
