Back in 2015, DC All Access’s very own Jason Inman teamed up with Operation Gratitude to launch an amazing donation drive to gather comic books to send to troops overseas called the Jawiin Comic Drive for Soldiers. In its initial run, they were able to collect and send out over 10,000 comic books to soldiers and their families.
Then last year the comic drive returned in full force, garnering huge support from DC Comics themselves, and doubling their efforts from the year before with more than 20,000 comic books collected and sent out.
Now, Jason Inman and Operation Gratitude have returned with the Jawiin Comic Drive for Soldiers! This year, Jason has set a goal of 22,000 comic books to be sent out by November 30th, and it seems that they are already on their way as Dan DiDio and DC Comic have doubled their donation from the past year and are giving 10,000 comic books to the this fantastic cause.
In the video below, Jason talks to Dan DiDio about the Jawiin Comic Drive for Soldiers and gives all the details of how you can make a donation.
If you want to donate comics, please complete these three step:
Step 1 – Fill out the donation form at https://www.operationgratitude.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Donor-Form_2017_OCT.pdf
(Put “Jawiin Comic Drive for Soldiers” in Group Title and the comic drive email on the form. The rest of the form is pretty self-explanatory.)
Step 2 – Box and ship the comics and the donation form to:
Operation Gratitude, 21100 Lassen St., Chatsworth, CA 91311
(Please include a donation form in EVERY box even if they’re part of the same donation. Sometimes cartons don’t all arrive at the same time.)
Step 3 – Send a picture of your comics and the number of books you are donating to jawiincomicdrive@gmail.com.
(If you don’t send your number to the email, they will have an inaccurate count and the drive could fail. Let’s get these soldiers some comics for the new year! )
