Summary

Constantine travels to the Dwarves dimension in order to rescue Margaret.

Positives

The cover by Tim Seeley and Chris Sotomayor is cool. Constantine sitting on the defeated Justice League is an interesting image. It’s a cover that grabs the reader’s attention immediately.

The interior art is by Jesus Merino with colors by Carrie Strachan. Their work is really good. The characters are distinct and expressive. And the colors are really interesting especially when Constantine steps into the other world.

I like how weird this story is. Tim Seeley is not afraid to tell a really bizarre story that fits into Constantine’s world very well. I like the surreal and horrific nature of it.

Negatives

Constantine is kind of a dick at the end of the story. I know that’s not a stretch, but he is the protagonist. It’s hard to be on his side or even sympathetic towards him because of how badly he treats Margaret. It’s a tough line to ride with how unlikable Constantine may or may not be, but the ending did not really sit right with me.

Verdict

This is a good issue. The story is interesting and weird in the best way. The art is gorgeous and it’s a fun issue to read. I recommend checking it out.
