Trick or Treat from The Dominators to DC’s Legends

All Hallow’s Eve for the CW’s ragtag time travellers is greeted not by mini versions of Heatwave or the A.T.O.M., but last year’s crossover Big Bad, The Dominators on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

In the episode entitled “Phone Home,” in the midst of dealing with the consequences of their damage to the timestream, the Legends now must rescue Ray Palmer by journeying into his past to both meet his younger self and a younger Dominator as well. The network released the following synopsis:

The Legends learn that Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) will die because they broke time, causing them to race back to 1988 to try and save his life. When they arrive, they are surprised to learn that young Ray Palmer has befriended a time-displaced baby Dominator putting him in harm’s way with the government and the Dominator’s mother. New to the ship and missions, Zari (Tala Ashe) must find her place and learn to trust the team. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) begins working on a secret project on the ship which makes Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Jax (Franz Drameh) suspicious. Caity Lotz, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Nick Zano also star.

Before they wreaked havoc across the four interconnected shows of the Arrow-verse last year, The Dominators debuted in the pages of DC Comics’ Adventure Comics #361 to combat The Legion of Superheroes. The brainchild of Jim Shooter and Jim Starlin, their 1988-89 story “Invasion!”, with arcs manned by the likes of Todd MacFarlane, Bart Sears, Bill Mantlo, and Keith Giffen, provided the basis of last year’s crossover event.

Catch the episode “Phone Home” of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on October 31 at 9 Eastern, 8 Pacific on the CW.
