Following the success of CW’s Vixen series, Freedom Fighters: The Ray will be also be released on CW’s digital outlet CW Seed.
Like Vixen, Freedom Fighters will be set in the same universe as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow, otherwise known as the Arrowverse.
Because of that, Freedom Fighters will feature cameos from across the Arrowverse and according to CW President Mark Pedowitz, The Ray will eventually also crossover into the live-action universe:
Without question, that is the way we are intending to build things out.
Freedom Fighters: The Ray takes place in the present but in an alternate universe where Germany and the Third Reich won World War II. The Ray discovers that scientists within the government have been working on weapons of mass destruction. Before he can do anything about it, he is exposed to a ‘genetic light bomb’, which fails to kill him but instead gives him powers.
