Recently, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice production designer Patrick Tatopoulos shared an image revealing a brand new design look of the Parademons. These extraterrestrial monsters are set to appear in the upcoming Justice League film where Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) seek out and recruit several heroes, including Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), to defend Earth against the menacing Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) and the demonic minions of Apokolips.
Ever since the announcement of a Justice League movie, DC Comics fans have been on the look out for who would be the big bad that Warner Bros. would chose for the League to take on for their first mission. The Parademons were first introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, seen in the “Knightmare” vision sequence which shows an apocalyptic Earth where Superman rules. Although at the end of the film, this vision didn’t come to pass, it seems that the insect-looking aliens will be coming in Justice League.
Below is a close up look of the freakishly scary and haunting aliens shared by Tatopoulos op his Instagram account. The Greek-French production designer is known to have worked with several blockbuster films such as Independence Day and 2012 and is heavily involved in the overall visuals of Dawn of Justice where the parademons first showed up.
Although its looks are different when it comes to its comic book counterpart, usually with a bright color palette, the alien-monster is on-point when it comes aesthetics and it fits their personality which would be wreaking havoc on Earth. Fans who have seen the upload immediately went on board with its menacing look and design.
Up to this point, little is known with regard to Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons. There are speculations that the reason they would visit our planet is to collect the Mother Boxes- one which was used to turn Victor Stone into Cyborg – to be used in their evil plan. With this in hand, it is up to the League to find the supercomputer devices and keep them out of Steppenwolf’s reach.
With a few months away from the premiere of Justice League, reshoots are currently happening under the supervision of Joss Whedon after taking over from its original helmer Zack Snyder who stepped down after a family tragedy.
Justice League is set to hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
