Summary
The Squad finds out the truth behind Hack’s murder, while Waller attempts to escape from Director Karla.
Positives
Another amazing issue by Rob Williams. You never know issue to issue what you’ll get, and that speaks volumes to his writing style.
For starters, Harley using Deadshot as a means to get Enchantress to freeze time was incredibly cunning. Really shows that she can be as intelligent and sadistic as anyone else, but anyone that knows Harley would know that about her. And Katana comparing her to Waller, well that was interesting. There’s no denying Flag’s death triggered something in Harley, but where Flag was determined to keep his team safe, Harley would be willing to sacrifice each one of them to complete the mission.
Speaking of Harley, her recreation to finding out that Boomerang killed Hack was great. Airing on the side of mercy and not killing him, but rather leaving him to freeze to death. I wouldn’t doubt Williams doing that, it would leave the door open for Boomerang to return.
Amanda Waller’s interrogation and escape from Director Karla was interesting, and looks like Waller is really going to start testing her squad against metahumans. And speaking of metahumans…Batman’s a metahuman now?
The art in this issue was decent, but not as good as previous issues. Many of the faces didn’t look right. The panels with Boomerang and the squad in the snow were probably the best ones artistically.
Negatives
The artwork could have been better.
Verdict
Definitely a great read, especially for Harley fans. Next issue looks to be incredible!
