The Queen of Media is back as Calista Flockhart returns as Cat Grant in the Supergirl season 3 premiere, new showrunners Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner told reporters ahead of the Supergirl panel at San Diego Comic-Con Saturday. She is expected to recur on the CW drama in the new season.
“The way that Calista appears in the first episode is really clever,” star Melissa Benoist told reporters.
Flockhart was one of the original cast members when the Greg Berlanti-produced show aired on CBS; however, she took on a recurring guest-star role in season 2 when production moved to Vancouver in the wake of the show’s jump to The CW. She appeared in the first two episodes of season 2, which saw Cat decide it was time to move on from CatCo. In the finale, she made her triumphant return to National City to help Supergirl with the Daxamite invasion.
Supergirl returns Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
