SDCC 2017: Hal Jordan & John Stewart Confirmed for Green Lantern Corps!

Warner Bros. who kicked off their extended universe with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has officially confirmed that the forthcoming Green Lantern Corps movie will feature both Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

It’s a hot topic for all DC fans who have patiently been waiting for news regarding Green Lantern (or Lanterns) who have been rumoured for some time to be making their debut appearance in this year’s Justice League movie, however this is something that has yet to be confirmed or denied.

Speculation has now grown following yesterday’s release on the latest Justice League trailer with many believing it is indeed a Lantern that Alfred is talking to at the end of the trailer.

What we do now know for certain is that the Green Lantern Corps is scheduled for a 2020 release with David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Batman v Superman) reportedly brought on board again to pen the script.

Inevitably, what fans will really be wanting to know is who will be cast to play the Lanterns? Many names have been speculated, most notably Armie Hammer for Hal Jordan with Idris Elba, Sterling K. Brown and most vocally Tyrese Gibson for the coveted John Stewart role. Gibson revealed via social media that he has indeed met with the studio but was unable to confirm nor deny his involvement in the Green Lantern Corps project.

With the project in its early stages of development it may yet be sometime before we have any official casting news but of course, that’s not going to stop us fans from debating.

So, who would be your ideal choice for Jordan and Stewart? Let us know in the comment section.
