DC Entertainment’s Dark Days: The Forge was the most successful book from the company in the month of June by nabbing the second spot in sales according to Diamond Distribution. The list reflects DC’s continued success in terms of comic book sales with several prominent titles landing in the top ten most sold books for the month.
Among the top 10 books for the month, DC had four titles among them. In the second spot is the aforementioned Dark Days: The Forge. In the fourth spot was Batman #24 (the now famous issue in which Batman proposes to Selina Kyle/Catwoman on the cover) followed by Dark Knight III: The Master Race #9 in the fifth spot. Making an appearance in the sixth spot is Batman #25 (the beginning chapter of the War of Jokes and Riddles story line)
It’s no surprise that issues that kick off big events (Dark Knights: Metal) tend to do very well in sales. These issues did very well considering that there was a new Spiderman book in the top spot as well as other issues related to big events.
Diamond not only keeps track of comic book sales but they maintain records on the sales of merchandise and collectibles. The most popular piece of memorabilia from DC Entertainment was the new Joker statue based on Brian Bolland’s design that was used for the cover of Batman: The Killing Joke. Also listed is the new Nightwing black and white statue based on Jim Lee’s artwork.
