Who watches the Watchmen? Apparently we will on HBO! Warner Bros. is rebooting Watchmen as a HBO series it seems which has been home to such successes like Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, and The Wire. At least we know there’s no holding back when it comes to an HBO series and Watchmen is best suited for it. Damon Lindelof will be heading the project after coming freshly off The Leftovers. Lindelof is known for such series as Lost and Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel Prometheus.
According to the Variety report, the series would not be based off of Zack Snyder’s movie but will be a new reinvention of the series for the network. HBO had previously attempted to put together a show based on the Vertigo series before, but it completely fell apart.
Let’s hope HBO does the series justice and makes Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons proud.
