Summary
Mazikeen, Queen of the Damned or Hell has assembled her remaining loyal followers. They prepare for a war against Lady Izanami, Asmodeus, and Beelzebub. Meanwhile, Lucifer has a problem of his own, an eviction notice from some unknown person of force. Though he quickly finds himself with a new friend, Iain Sante, who’s a little too friendly, and in need of an ally.
Amidst deception, demons, back stabbing, and talking babies, the world finds a way to get a little more hellish. But that won’t stop Lucifer from finding a way to come out on top now will it?
Positives
Something that has continually impressed me about Lucifer is the creative characters. Lucifer is always stylish and suave with a calmness hiding an anger. The other characters are really where the series flourishes. From Raphael, the angel who looks like a rocker to Paul the talking baby, they all are extremely memorable.
Among the best though comes from Garbett and Fabela who create a ridiculous and wonderful variety of background characters. Each of them appears as though they have an interesting back story.
The cover of this issue is amazing as well. The stark contrast of the red background and the color of the foreground draws the eye, to Mazikeen, so the reader stares at her, just as Lucifer is. It is a striking cover that will have people picking up the issue simply to have it.
Verdict
This issue wasn’t super flashy or amazing but hit just the right spot and has me excited for the next issue!
