Dolph Lundgren to join Jason Momoa in 'Aquaman'

Dolph Lundgren is making his return to studio movies by diving into the deep cold waters, and going head to head with the King of Atlantis. The Hollywood Reporter states that Dolph Lundgren, best known for his role as Soviet boxer Drago in 1985’s Rocky IV, will play King Nereus in the Warner Bros.’ big-screen adaptation of DC Comics’s Aquaman. According to the report, King Nereus of Xebel claims Mera as his own and wants to kill Aquaman.

Jason Momoa is starring as the title character, with a supporting cast that includes Amber Heard as Mera, Aquaman’s royal love interest; Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother; Patrick Wilson as Orm, a villain who happens to be Aquaman’s half-brother; Willem Dafoe is playing Aquaman’s adviser, scientist Dr. Vulko; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is classic villain Black Manta; and Temuera Morrison is Aquaman’s father.

The film starts production in Australia this May, and is set to release in the US on December 21st, 2018. The film is being directed by James Wan. Let us know how you feel about this casting in the comments below.
