Summary
Two Lanterns, one Green and one Yellow — Gorin-Sunn and Space Ape, respectively. They are exhibiting the type of uneasy alliance one might expect in the merged Lantern Corps situation. They get a call to investigate a temporal anomaly on a nearby world. We learn that these anomalies have been popping up “all over,” and they turn out to be nothing. As they follow the trail, again the anomaly appears to be another false alarm, however they do investigate an odd looking cave. They are attacked by some sort of unknown creatures or constructs, it’s unclear.

Back on Mogo, tensions are running high between the two Corps as the Sinestro Corps is rebuilding its central power battery. It takes Guy Gardner and Arkillo, apparently now new besties to bring perspective to the situation and diffuse it.

Elsewhere, on Mogo, Salaak is having trouble tracking Gorin-Sunn and Space Ape. Well, we know what happened, but just as John Stewart is about to send Kyle and Hal to investigate the disappearance, the temporal anomaly alert pops up again and it’s in the room with them. A rift appears and out pops Rip Hunter with a warning about the Green Lantern Corps. He quickly passes out and they realize that he’s wearing a power ring.

Positives
At first I was concerned that this issue was going to break down into a war between corps.  Thankfully, there was just enough tension to be believable but not overwhelm the story.  For the future, Guy and Arkillo claim to have settled all that on their own, so this should deter other Lanterns to get carried away with infighting.  The rebuilding of the Sinestro Corps battery by both teams together offers Saint Walker a sliver of Hope.  Rip Hunter is an interesting choice to appear, but with temporal anomalies it makes perfect sense. I can’t help but wonder if Rip is tracking town temporal anomalies himself that may be connected to the larger DC Universe Rebirth event.

Negatives
As long as this is the end of the petty infighting, this issue served its purpose. However, it lingers like a specter that threatens to derail the exciting and interesting story line. Plus, the two Corps working together is far more interesting than more fighting.

Verdict
Something big is on the horizon, and this issue gives just a teaser. It does, however, make effective use of Guy Gardner and Arkillo’s two-issue story line.  There’s a lot going on in this title and it all works well together, this issue exemplifies this.
