Summary
This issue begins in the future with a look at just how peculiar Gotham is going to be 150 years from now. Gotham seems to be completely enthralled with Batman and completely hates Harley! Then we jump back to our present day, where the weird, naked, super powered creature Zorcrom is laying a beating on Quinn and Atlee, another hero from underground!
In this issue the super powered being is met against something he never expected in the battle for the control of Earth. I’ll give you a hint, it isn’t any type of physical resistance or super power. He was confronted by a woman from Brooklyn with more sense than just about anyone else out there: Harley!
Positives
This issue, while having its fair share of jokes and funny moments, shows something I didn’t expect. Just how personable and down to earth Harley is. In this issue she feels like the oldest teen in your childhood neighbourhood who had all the answers and a lot of attitude, but was still cool. We haven’t seen this type of almost parental attitude in Harley yet.
The art in this issue is also quite beautiful. The various artists draw the different characters from all sorts of angles that you don’t normally see. The unusual shots add a lot to the feeling and atmosphere of this issue which match the unusual situation Harley finds herself in.
Negatives
While it is certainly interesting to see a glimpse into the crazy future of Gotham, there is now one more odd two page story added to Harley which crowds the now four stories in this one issue. Having the stories start and finish or at least feel more tidy would add a lot to make Harley feel like a smoother series.
Verdict
I highly enjoyed the chaos and the continued use of props and positioning to hide various characters crotches in Harley Quinn #15. The story of Zorcrom is becoming an interesting one indeed and I can’t wait to find out his fate!
