The internet is abuzz with the news that at the 89th Academy Awards last night Suicide Squad took home the Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Makeup artists Giorgio Gregorini, Alessandro Bertolazzi, and Christopher Nelson accepted the award on the film’s behalf and dedicated it to “all the immigrants” during their speech. The film had a plethora of hair and styling choices ranging from Harley’s new blue and pink style, El Diablo’s intricate tattoos, The Joker’s new gangta look with the grill and tattoos (not to mention that beautiful green hair) and Killer Croc’s amazing scaly detail. the film beat out the likes of Star Trek Beyond and A Man Called Ove. We think it was a pretty good choice.
The internet is now lit about the topic, with Twitter and fans blowing up about the win. Fans are ecstatic for the win while the haters call the win into question. Some tweets relate to the fact the film has the same amount of Oscars as Leo DiCaprio and Stanley Kubrick as well as more Oscars than Shawshank Redemption, Alan Rickman, Spike Lee, and Singing in the Rain combined.
