Summary
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Harley shows us in this issue just how true that statement is of her. In the last issue Joker returned to her and set up a meeting at the local pier in hopes of convincing her that he’s a changed man. In a foolish attempt to “save” her, Red Tool changes her clock and intercepts Joker at the pier.
This issue picks up immediately afterward, starting with Harley sawing logs in bed and Red Tool getting up in the Joker’s face. He proceeds to lay a royal beating on the Crown Prince of Crime, all of which goes unanswered by the Joker. Harley eventually wakes up and makes her way to the pier only to find Red Tool finishing his beating of the Joker.
She peels her would-be protector off of her ex and that’s when the real beatings start. I won’t steal the glorious events that happen from you reader, go pick up this issue and see the sweet pain that only Harley could inflict on those who underestimate or make light of her.
Oh yeah, and vampires too.
Positives
This issue is awesome, as a fan of Batman, seeing Joker get a whooping that Batman would struggle to deliver is beautiful. Not only that, but this issue also shows us a different side of Harley that we haven’t yet seen in this series. She is working more methodically and putting far more thought and passion into her actions.
We also get to see a dream sequence drawn by Chad Hardin which gives a colorful look at Harley’s history with the Joker in brief.
I’d also can’t leave out the real star of this issue, Harley’s zombified, razor tongued, beaver totem? I’m not really sure what it is but it’s great!
Verdict
I loved this issue as the readers will. If this is the issue of Harley Quinn that you pick up as a first, you won’t be disappointed.
