Review: Harley Quinn #8

[Editor’s note: This review may contain spoilers.]

Writer: Jimmy Palmiotti & Amanda Conner
Artist: Chad Hardin Feat, Andrew Robinson & Bret Blevins

Summary
I’m seriously starting to think that, for all her insanity, Harley Quinn is the most sane and normal character in the DC Universe. There! I said it! Keep in mind that sanity is fairly relevant to your world. This issue opens up with a dream sequence sure to have fans of the original Harley jumping for joy. Harley is troubled by this dream and seeks the sound, psychological evaluation of Frank. You remember Frank, right? from Frank’s Franks, the hot dog stand seen in the first few issues?

After talking with him Harley decides to take a break from life and do a little R & R with Poison Ivy in the Bahamas! While there they get up to some serious relaxing and reflecting on themselves, their lives, and even their relationship. Not to mention old, naked, partly cybernetic, one eyed men!

Positives
With some creative positioning of various items and body parts we get to enjoy a nudist colony full of people without seeing a single naughty part. Getting to watch Ivy and Quinn really connect is so sweet and charming as they relax and bond more together.

Negatives
The end of this issue was quite disappointing, as life often is. This was one instance where I wish that the “good guys,” and I’m using that term loosely here, could get what they want. There really is nothing negative to say about his issue other than that. The art, story, and especially the hair styles in this issue, are awesome.

Verdict
I loved this issue and how crazy it is. This is a perfect snap shot of how fun and odd Harley Quinn and her life are.
