Summary
Wally West is back! Thanks to the events of Rebirth, Wally West, a.k.a. The Flash, has returned! However, Wally’s return means the return of old enemies, like the villain Kadabra! Kadabra, who uses technology from the future, has kidnapped Wally’s love Linda Park and Wally must get her back! But is Wally truly ready to face one of his most dangerous enemies?

Positives
I’m a huge fan of The Flash and especially Wally and I’m glad he made his return in Rebirth. Here is told a story of Wally’s return by using Linda Park as his “lightning rod”– basically a beacon to return Wally to the correct universe. Although Park has no memory of being in love with The Flash, Kadabra tells her parts of his and The Flash’s story, and I think this is starting to jog her memory a little. I can’t wait to see how the next issue plays out, especially with the ending that Abnett gives us! He leaves on it a real cliffhanger giving Wally bascially impossible odds of saving Linda and I’m wondering if he’ll be able to do it at all. I’m not going to completely spoil it for you but Kadabra goes at great lengths to pull of this plan, and I really think that he may actually succeed.

Negatives
My only complaint about this story is Wally’s attitude at certain moments. In a few pages, especially in the beginning of the book, we find Wally confused and very unsure of himself against Kadabra. It takes Nightwing to calm Wally down and get him to think. I loved Abnett’s portrayal of Wally and Dick’s friendship. However, I wanted a more confident Wally West. I’m thinking the events of Rebirth might have played a part in his confidence and I hope Abnett gets Wally back to normal fast (pun intended).

Verdict

Titans #4 was a great read, especially if you’re a fan of the rivalry between Kadabra and The Flash. I have a few comics from the 90s with The Flash and Kadabra fighting it out so this book had a brief moment of nostalgia for me. I’m looking forward to finding out Kadabra’s endgame! Definitely check out Titans #4!
