Wonder Woman’s 75th will go on Forever!

Everyone loves a strong leading lady, and none are more fully packed than the template from which all others followed! Wonder Woman celebrates 75 years as a legend and icon, getting a lot of love from fans all across the planet including at San Diego Comic-Con.

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con if there’s been more attention given to any other character across the pantheon of superheroes that have been working the pavement this season, no other comes close to the love and admiration being bestowed upon the first lady of DC Comics! We’re obviously talking about Wonder Woman — the iconic founding member of the Justice League is in the midst of celebrating her 75th Anniversary, and it’s one well earned. In the modern era of comics literature Wonder Woman has elevated to a new phenomenon!

Her successful inclusion onto the cinematic stratosphere in this year’s blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice immediately raised her profile and fandom nearly outshining the film’s two other titular titans. Brought onto the big screen by Gal Gadot after having already been brought to life in primetime by Lynda Carter in the 1970s action series, the Amazing Amazon will be continuing her feature film adventures next year when the solo film Wonder Woman comes to a theater near you.

At Comic-Con guests were treated to a special panel celebrating the career of the character which including Gadot, the film’s director Patty Jenkins and artist Nicola Scott who has been tasked with illustrating Wonder Woman’s “Year One” storyline following the “Rebirth” revelations. The panel was hosted by DC All Access host Tiffany Smith and also included comics legend and DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee. Among the highlights of the con was the introduction of the film’s first full-length trailer which showed Wonder Woman in all her glory, and a “sneak peek” at the upcoming Justice League which will bring all the major DC Comics characters together on film for the first time.

Continuing the tradition of saturating the pop-culture universe with images of Wonder Woman in order to guarantee her unmarked marketability the U.S. Postal Service will also be releasing a beautiful illustrated set of commemorative stamps in honor of Wonder Woman’s 75th anniversary. Unveiled at Comic-Con the stamps bay homage to the Wonder Woman of the Modern Age (1987-present) and back to her introduction in the Golden Age (1941) with a set which will include the art of comic’s greats. The stamps will become after the dedication ceremony to take place at New York Comic-Con on Friday, Oct 7. After that collectors can stop by their local post office to purchase the set for themselves.

Though whether or not she will be tangling with the forces of evil herself have not been determined it can be confirmed that she will be playing the role of the most powerful person on the planet: The President of the (Primetime DC Universe’s) United States!
