Maid of Might gets 2nd Season on new network
Supergirl, the series focusing on Kara Zor-El’s adventures in National City, is moving from CBS to its joint partner network with Warner Bros. – The CW.
The Eye Network has a history of skewing toward an older demographic with such series as Blue Bloods, NCIS and Hawaii 5-0. So it was a bit of a surprise when word came of Supergirl premiering on CBS in 2015.
In its freshman season, Supergirl retained a 2.5 rating in adults 18-49 and a 10.03 million viewers on average. While those number were impressive for a new drama, the numbers were still behind the comedy lineup that held the Monday time slot a year earlier.
With this move to the CW, the Girl of Steel joins other Greg Berlanti series Arrow and The Flash, as well as DC Comics/Vertigo imprint series iZombie. It is yet known if Supergirl will join Flash and Arrow on “their” Earth. This current season saw The Flash star Grant Gustin appearing on the Melissa Benoist series, establishing that they reside in separate parallel worlds.
