Kevin Tsujihara, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment, confirmed Tuesday at CinemaCon that actor Ben Affleck will star and direct a standalone Batman film. Affleck currently stars as the Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opposite Henry Cavill.

Back in July 2015, it was reported that Affleck was in talks to star and direct. Now, confirmed Tsujihara made an official announcement at the National Association of Cinema Owners’ annual event in Las Vegas.

Warner Bros. has committed to ten movies under the DC Films banner. In addition to the current Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad will bow in August, followed by Wonder Woman and Justice League Parts One. Others include previously announced The Flash, Aquaman, Shazam, Justice League Part Two, Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps.

Affleck was also on hand at CinemaCon along with BvS co-star Amy Adams, but no details were given on the Batman film, or where it would fit in the schedule.
