In case you happen to miss out on going to WonderCon this year don’t fret because I have some pretty amazing news that was unveiled there! As the DC panel came to a close they released a juicy piece of information and teaser images about Hana-Barbera.
They are getting a “face lift” from the cartoons that we all grew up with as kids and are now looking a little more contemporary. Moderated by DC’s Co-publisher Dan DiDio, Co-publisher Jim Lee, Senior Editor of Special Projects Marie Javins, and writer as well as artist team Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti were ecstatic to give the details on the details and first-looks with some covers and snips for Scooby Apocalypse, Future Quest, and were generous enough to give a look at other coming soon titles like Wacky Raceland and The Flinstones!
Future Quest is set to come out May 18th, which the story is about the teenage adventurer Jonny Quest from Jeff Parker and DC Exclusive art from Evan Shaner. They showed the action packed cover from Evan and the variants by Steve Rude and Bill Sienkiewicz.
Scooby Apocalypse is going to be released on May 25th. It is an all monsters and mayhem as Jim Lee illustrates on the cover art! There are some variants on these as well done by Howard Porter, Neal Adams. It is written by Keith Giffen and JM Dematteis with artwork by Howard Porter. Then to cap off the reveal of all these amazing Hana-Barbera characters and comics they reveiled these images of The Flinstones and Wacky Racers!
