J.K. Simmons Cast As James Gordon In ‘Justice League’

Simmons trades roles from Editor of the Daily Bugle to the Commissioner of Gotham’s Finest

Actor J.K. Simmons, who is no stranger to comic book genre movies, has been cast as Commissioner James Gordon in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Part One. The Oscar winner will join fellow winner Ben Affleck (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Henry Cavill (Superman/Clark Kent), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman/Diana Prince), Jason Momoa (Aquaman/Arthur Curry), Ezra Miller (The Flash/Barry Allen) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg/Victor Stone).

Simmons last superhero genre role was that of J. Jonah Jameson in the  Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. He has also portray the character in several Marvel animated television shows.

Justice League: Part One is scheduled to start shooting in mid-April and is currently expected to be released on November 17, 2017.
