‘Supergirl’: Vandervoort Joins Cast; Kara and Martian Manhunter Set To Fly!

Former Maid of Might set to play villain

Confirming a story reported on back in July, Smallville alum Laura Vandervoort will guest-star on an upcoming episode of Supergirl. The producers of the show made the announcement at last week’s Television Critics Association’s press tour. Vandervoort joined Smallville as a cast member during the seventh season playing Kara Zor-El. She would have subsequent appearances on seasons eight and ten.

Vandervoort has been cast as the character Indigo on Supergirl, a supervillain from DC Comics with ties to Brainiac. She is scheduled to make her debut in episode 15. Vandervoort is not the only former “Superman Family” member on the show. Dean Cain, of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and the first big screen Supergirl, Helen Slater play Kara’s adoptive parents.

CBS also released some teasers from tomorrow night’s episode “Childish Things”. The first features Martian Manhunter/J’onn J’onzz / Hank Henshaw (played by David Harewood) giving Supergirl (played by Melissa Benoist) a flight lesson.

And in this second clip, J’onn disguises himself as Maxwell Lord (played by Peter Facinelli) and stumbles upon a “bizarre” experiment.

An all-new Supergirl returns tomorrow night as she matches wits with Winn’s dad, The Toyman, at 8/7 c on CBS.
